THE LAST 10% OF FAITH

THE LAST 10% OF FAITH

by Bill Elliff May 18, 2021

I heard a great Christian leader say that the toughest part of conversations with others is always the last ten percent. You've covered a lot of ground in the first 90% of the conversation, but there is something that you really need to discuss with them. Getting to that last (and usually most vital and usually the hardest) part of the conversation takes some risk and a lot of courage. Good leaders have learned to push through to the final words.

WHY YOU DON’T NEED TO FEAR ANYONE OR ANYTHING

WHY YOU DON’T NEED TO FEAR ANYONE OR ANYTHING

by Bill Elliff April 20, 2021

The greatest enemy of our spiritual life is fear because fear is the opposite of faith. A man or woman who lives with fear is bound up and unable to walk in the way God designed. Their concern becomes other people’s opinions or another day’s problems.

Fear binds us and confines us, rendering us powerless. Most tragically, it keeps us from simple, restful confidence in the sufficiency of God and is a weak testimony to a watching world.

TURNING GIANTS INTO BREAD

TURNING GIANTS INTO BREAD

by Bill Elliff March 11, 2021

How do you view your problems? Do they seem like giants before you, absolutely impossible to overcome? Threats that will keep you from entering into all that God has for you?

God sees our problems as bread and faith comes by aligning our perspectives with His.

DOING GOD’S WORK MAN’S WAY

DOING GOD’S WORK MAN’S WAY

by Bill Elliff January 15, 2021

God specializes in promising the impossible. He asks us to believe Him for things we cannot see—things beyond belief. This creates a dilemma that is only solved by faith, and it is this faith that He is after.

THE INDISPENSABLE ELEMENT

THE INDISPENSABLE ELEMENT

by Bill Elliff December 03, 2020

In scientific equations there are certain elements that cause certain reactions. If those elements are not present, you do not have what you intended. For instance, if you take hydrogen out the equation of H2O, you will not have water, one of the most essential combination of elements in the universe.

FAITH

... is the essential element for the believer. And faith, in itself, has several parts ...

ASLEEP IN THE STORM

ASLEEP IN THE STORM

by Bill Elliff August 07, 2020

Most of us have never been in this magnitude of a storm physically. But many of us have faced such storms practically. We have been in places, emotionally and spiritually, where we felt we could die.

7 REASONS TO STOP WORRYING

7 REASONS TO STOP WORRYING

by Bill Elliff August 05, 2020

Of all the things Jesus could have addressed in the Sermon on the Mount, it's fascinating that He spends a good bit of time addressing worry. In fact, He commands us not to be worried: "Do not be worried about your life."

We are champion worriers. God knows that worry is so counterproductive. Not only is it useless, but it ties us up, destroys our faith, is a poor witness to those who are watching, and dishonors God. So, to help us He gives His true followers multiple reasons why worry is so useless.

GOD’S WINGS

GOD’S WINGS

by Bill Elliff April 02, 2020

Where do you go to find help? When you are overwhelmed, where do you turn? When your way is unclear, whose guidance do you seek? When your resources are depleted, where do you go to find more than yourself?

Some has never even considered these questions. They simply plow forward, relying on the best human abilities they can muster. But every man has limits. We are not all-powerful and our resources are small. We are certainly not all-knowing, so our vision is short-sighted.

WILL YOU NOT TRUST GOD?

WILL YOU NOT TRUST GOD?

by Bill Elliff March 11, 2020

The great enterprise of God with man is to bring us back to a place of dependence upon Him. Our sin leads us to independence. We trust ourselves or others, but not God even though God has given millions of reasons to rely upon Him.

THE GOD WE SHOULD BELIEVE IN, or, The Disastrous Digression of Unbelief

THE GOD WE SHOULD BELIEVE IN, or, The Disastrous Digression of Unbelief

by Bill Elliff March 05, 2020

God intends to be believed. It makes sense. He made us, has provided for our every need and is perfect in all his ways. But our greatest sin, the sin from which all others originate is our unbelief.

GOD MEETS US WHERE WE ARE

GOD MEETS US WHERE WE ARE

by Bill Elliff January 09, 2020

We often doubt God, worrying over things which God has already revealed to us. This is one of the reasons He has given us the overabundance of promises in His Word. He invites us to go back again and again and renew our doubting hearts. Our knowing Father understands our frame and realizes that we often need multiple assurances.

Abraham needed a final push toward faith and the Great Shepherd graciously provided. God met Abraham in his faith journey where he was to take him where he needed to be. And, He will do the same for you.

THE

THE "I WILL" OF GOD

by Bill Elliff January 08, 2020

There are over 7,000 of these promises in Scripture to us! This is God’s operating system with man. He gives us a faith directive and promises the results. And, He is always faithful.

He is saying, “I WILL” to you today, if you will listen to Him through His word and follow Him in obedience, trusting in His promises. One of the greatest tragedies at the end of our lives will be to realize how much more we could have experienced of God if we had believed and obeyed our “I WILL” God.
