THE HARD, VALUABLE ART OF WAITING

THE HARD, VALUABLE ART OF WAITING

by Bill Elliff February 09, 2024

Over time, godly men and women have come to see that the Lord is never in a hurry but always on time. There are things that God accomplishes through time that cannot be done any faster. God molds us during seasons of waiting. He brings us to dependence. His promises become real and His presence precious. And God is preparing outcomes that are stunning … if we will wait.

FAITH REALLY WORKS

FAITH REALLY WORKS

by Bill Elliff January 17, 2024

God can do anything, of course. And there are many miraculous things He wants to do on this earth so the world can know and believe Him. Your salvation was the greatest of these, but just the beginning.

THE EXCLUSIVITY OF GOD

If we long to know the beauty of harmony with God, ourselves, and this world and the next, we must repent of our pride and place God where He belongs in our minds and affections.

ON WHAT DOES YOUR LIFE REST?

ON WHAT DOES YOUR LIFE REST?

by Bill Elliff November 17, 2023

So, what am I trusting in today? On whom am I relying? If I am looking to myself, others, society, the stock market—anything else—it will shift and fail. (

HOW WILL YOU RESPOND TO THE ENEMIES YOU FACE?

HOW WILL YOU RESPOND TO THE ENEMIES YOU FACE?

by Bill Elliff November 10, 2023

There is no one who desires to be used by God who is not faced with enemies. We all deal with external enemies (opposers to the direction God has called us to), internal enemies (the weakness of our flesh and the swirling winds of our emotions and fears), and, most importantly, spiritual enemies (“We wrestle not against flesh and blood”). These battles are there for all of us, particularly for Christian leaders.

INTO THE JORDAN

by Bill Elliff October 06, 2023

Where is the Lord taking you? He has no need to divert around a problem, a difficulty, or a circumstance. If you are with Him and He with you, He can part waters and take you across on dry ground. Get into a position to hear Him and follow Him explicitly. He will lead you, and the world will be amazed.

THE UNENDING REACH OF GOD'S PROMISES

THE UNENDING REACH OF GOD'S PROMISES

by Bill Elliff October 04, 2023

God is a promise-keeping God. It is the way He operates. Over 7,000 times in the Scriptures, God gives man promises. Some are unconditional (“I will do this”), and some are conditional (“I will do this IF you do this”). But all are ironclad promises from the One-Who-Does-Not-Lie.

LIFTING THE KNIFE BEFORE THE GOD-WHO-SEES

LIFTING THE KNIFE BEFORE THE GOD-WHO-SEES

by Bill Elliff September 26, 2023

Everything in the life that God has designed for man is about faith. We were made to live on God and no other. Drawn away from this dependency, we flounder in useless pursuits, our lives missing the whole point of our existence.

DO YOU NEED STRENGTH?

DO YOU NEED STRENGTH?

by Bill Elliff July 13, 2023

When you are weak, do you quit? Do you wallow in despair and self-pity? Do you resign yourself to a second-best effort? Do you try to pull yourself up by your own bootstraps? Or do you, like David, say, "For YOU are the God of my strength!"

WHO DO YOU TRUST?

WHO DO YOU TRUST?

by Bill Elliff February 09, 2023

There are two categories of people in the world: those who trust God and those who do not. Faith means to believe, to depend upon, to rely on, to look to.

You can check your trust level by answering one simple question: How much do you pray? If you can go a day, a week, or a year without ever really praying, it’s a clear indication that you think you can handle life yourself. That you feel you don’t need God. That you are trusting in yourself and your own resources. This decision is fatal.
