GRATEFUL FOR WHAT GOD HAS GIVEN US IN OUR NATION

There's much wrong in our nation, but as we head into the 4th of July, here are some things I'm GRATEFUL for ...
1. Our incredible freedom. How different our lives would be without it!
2. The spiritual and Biblical foundations of our nation from our forefathers that has served us these 246 years, even though constantly challenged.
3. The tens of thousands of churches across our land that faithfully preach the good news, in small towns and large, small churches and large, week after week, adding salt and light to our nation.
4. The millions of people who have prayed and are praying now!
5. The miracle of the overturning of Roe v. Wade in my lifetime, providing fresh evidence that we CAN repent nationally.
6. The sheer beauty of our nation (as I've traveled this month to Seattle, California, the Rockies of Colorado and the Tetons and wide plains of Wyoming). This beauty is a foretaste of what a new heaven and earth will be one day. If we have eyes to see, it raises our minds and hearts to our Creator and speaks daily to us of His greatness and beauty, and the promise of eternity.
7. The freedom to train my children as I feel led and the rising generation of believing children who love God fearlessly across our nation. The daily work of mothers and fathers to this task.
8. The incredible, undying service of our military, fire and police, first responders, medical community, teachers, and so many others that give their time and lives to serve us, to keep us safe, healthy, and secure. We have millions of people who serve us well!
9. The freedom to write and speak what God lays on my heart with no restrictions. Can you imagine what the loss of this would be like?
10. The great heritage and example of the five nationwide Spiritual Awakenings that have occurred, every 30-60 years, (1735, 1800, 1857, 1905, 1970) bringing course corrections and turning us back to our ultimate King. The mercy of God upon our nation in opening the heavens and making Himself known in stunning clarity.
11. The hope I live with every day that it has been 52 years since our last nationwide awakening and the rising tide of desperation and prayer that I see with my own eyes across our nation, bringing the hope of another Great Awakening.
     One of the greatest indications of pride is ingratitude. I want to be grateful. I see all our problems, but are there other things you're grateful for? In the midst of relentless "news" of everything that's wrong with our nation, why not make your own list this weekend and flood your part of the world with gratitude for the goodness of God towards us as a people? Why not remind your children and those around you of the mercies of God and thank Him for His provision?
