LOVING THE GLORY

February 01, 2019

O Lord, I love the habitation of Your house and the place where Your glory dwells. (Psalm 26:8)

Where's your favorite place? Where would you rather be than anyplace else?

For David, this was a simple answer. He loved to be where God was. He loved to behold the beauty of the Lord. He loved the presence of God.

In His day, the most visible place of God's presence was the tabernacle of God. God had promised to be there and for David, there was no better place to be.

Why? David knew that everything of value was there. "In Your presence is fullness of joy and at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore," he said (Psalm 16:11).

He wanted God's glory and wanted to live His life to reflect the glory. And this was the great key to His success. It was what caused Him to long for God's presence more than anything. It was why He prayed, why He worshiped, why He humbly sought God all His life. And, it was why David led with such clarity and brilliance and favor. He lived in God’s presence.

What is your greatest ambition? Where do you want to dwell? If It's not like David's you're missing the greatest thing and your life needs a serious adjustment.
